Homemade waffles with Ball Park ® Flame Grilled Patties and all your favorite toppings.

Waffle-Burgers-1

Waffles for dinner? Oh yes, that’s how we do it around these parts. My husband is a big fan of burgers and we have them A LOT! I thought it would be fun to fix them a little differently for a change. These homemade waffles are soft on the inside and just the right amount of crunch on the outside. They aren’t sweet on their own, so waffles are the perfect vehicle for either a sweet or savory dish. And they pair very nicely with these delicious Ball Park® Flame Grilled Burgers!

Waffle-Burger-2

I love the Ball Park® Flame Grilled Patties because they’re frozen, but already cooked. All you have to do is pop them on the grill or stick them in the microwave and heat for about a minute. I microwaved mine because, well, it’s just so easy! And it gave my hubby a break from the grill.

BallPark-Publix

Ball Park® Flame Grilled Patties were super easy to find at Publix in the frozen Meats section.

Batter

This is my grandmother’s recipe for waffles. It’s one of those recipes that I can always depend on. And you can mix it up in one bowl for quick clean up.

Waffle-Iron

You can use any size waffle iron that you have. This happens to be the one that I have used for many years. It’s important to preheat according to the instructions that came with your waffle iron. For mine, you just plug it in and wait for the light to go off. Then you know it’s heated.

Waffles-in-Iron

The recipe I’ve included for waffles makes 8 square waffles. You might get more or less, depending on the size of your waffle iron. They also freeze very well if you put them in an airtight container or sealed plastic bag.

Burgers

Whether it’s 1 or 6 burgers, I love that you can make whatever amount you want. Ball Park® burgers are ready so quickly and you don’t even need a grill. They’re ready in just a minute! You can ENTER TO WIN the Hall of Flame Sweepstakes just as quickly. You could win up to $1,000 in prizes!

Waffle-Burger-3a

Once you heat up the number of burgers you need, then you can create your Waffle Burgers. Pile them high with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, mayo, mustard and ketchup. You could also add cheese, if you wanted to. And if you don’t feel like making the homemade waffles, you could always use store bought. That would be very tasty too!

With Ball Park® Flame Grilled Patties you don’t have to sacrifice taste to save time. What would you do with your extra time if dinner didn’t take so long to prepare?

Waffle Burgers

Ingredients

  • For the waffles -
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • For the burgers:
  • 4 Ball Park® Flame Grilled Patties
  • Toppings of choice

Instructions

  1. Place all of the waffle ingredients into a large bowl. Stir by hand until completely combined and smooth. It might be a little bit lumpy, but that's ok. Brush the waffle iron with a little bit of oil. Preheat waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions. Use the amount of batter indicated on your manufacturer's instructions. For my waffle iron which makes 2 square waffles at a time uses 1/3 cup of batter per waffle and once you close the lid, they take 90 seconds to bake. Bake yours according to your manufacturer's instructions. Place baked waffles on a plate and continue making them until you've used all of the batter.
  2. Heat each burger on a microwave safe plate covered with a paper towel for 1 minute and 15 seconds. Use 2 waffles for the bread and one burger patty in the middle. Dress the burger as desired. Store extra waffles in the freeze in an airtight container, if desired.

I love the idea of using a waffle instead of a bun! The idea of ketchup and mustard on a waffle made me scratch my head at first, but seeing is believing, and I believe this looks delicious! #client
